What is GGBY?
GGBY Highline Gathering is an annual gathering during the Thanksgiving week of individuals from all over the world who come to highline over the canyons of Moab, Utah. GGBY stands for Gobble Gobble Bitches Yeah and was conceived by a group of highliners over a decade ago who gathered informally to have fun. The gathering has grown to include hundreds of participants and spectators and has received international recognition for its visually striking aesthetics. 2018 marks the 11th year of GGBY and the second year it is being officially organized.
GGBY Highline Gathering is first and foremost a community gathering with a mission and core values. Slackline U.S., a 501(c)(3) non-profit that nationally works to serve the US Slackline community, is the official organizing body of GGBY and seeks to maintain the community feel and values while opening up the gathering to the growing interest of the public. Minimizing human impact on the environment while maintaining the highlining activities and spirit of GGBY is part of our guiding values. Slackline US and local GGBY facilitators are working with local land managers and officials to keep GGBY going while being great stewards to the Fruit Bowl Highline Area.
